The Elusive White Rabbit
Happy March everyone!
Today I’d like to tell you all about one of my favorite pastimes. Chasing RABBITS.
Okay – so I don’t get to actually chase them all the time, but I know they’re out there. I can smell them. The problem is that they are really hard to see because in the winter they turn white like the snow. It’s kind of like magic, and also – I LOVE the snow!
But whenever they move, I see them and the chase is on.
A few days ago, I was only a few noses away from one of the biggest rabbits I ever saw. He actually startled me at first, but then I was off in hot pursuit!
We ran through the snowflake forest in the backyard and then crossed over into my neighbor’s big wide open area. Then it was back into the woods and almost to the campground next door when the unthinkable happened. My special collar beeped and my Mom yelled out my full name – No Jasper No! Of course I stopped for a second to look back just in case she wasn’t serious, but when I turned back a split second later the white rabbit was gone. Vanished – just like magic. I was so close. I’m blaming my mother for my failure, and even though I gave her the sad eye when I came back, she showed no sympathy.
On the good note, she said I was a good boy for listening and then said next time I flush out a bunny I should wait until she has her camera ready. (I’m not really sure what that means.)
The best part was . . . Once we went back indoors I got my new favorite treat – the Pupsicle.
So if you are outdoors and you think you see the snow moving, I’m pretty sure you’re seeing the white rabbit. Let me know if you do and I’ll try to catch him for you!
